The garden city of Le Vésinet, once covered by part of the ancient Fôret d'Yvelines dating from the time of François I (early 16th century), realised its potential thanks to Alphonse Pallu and the Compte de Choulot, who created the town we know today.
In fact, these two men redesigned the park, completely transformed the landscapes and views and created artificial rivers and lakes, giving rise, notably, to the Grand Lac des Ibis. This has long been a place for leisure activities and events centring mainly around its water displays.
Arriving at Le Vésinet, you will be immediately struck by the almost magical atmosphere of the place, which is perfect for a stroll whatever the season. It's as beautiful clothed with autumn colours as with spring flowers, in the heat of summer or in the frost of winter. This little gem in the heart of Le Vésinet is not to be missed!
